Victorian Landscape Photographer of the Year 2015 - Runner UP

I found out today that I am the 2015 Victorian Professional Landscape Photographer of the Year runner up. I was fortunate to receive a Gold Distinction, a Gold and five Silver medals in the Victorian Professional Photography Awards.  I'm chuffed.  I finally managed to claim the illusive gold award ............ twice.

A study in minimalism.

On January 1st I started another 365 project. Basically my intention is to take and upload at least one image very day for a year. These daily images will be posted to my Facbook and Instagram pages. Here are a couple from the collection so far. Happy New Year everyone.

St Petersburg Exhibition

If any of you are in East Melbourne over the next week slip into the Victorian Artist Society @ 430 Albert Street, East Melbourne and check out my St Petersburg exhibition . Myself along with two other photographers Sharon Walker and John Tozer travelled to St Petersburg back in 2012.  The exhibition is called "St Petersburg Uncovered - Three Melbourne Photographers - Three Interpretations.  Here are a couple of shots from the exhibition opening last night.

Our Baby is growing up.

Today Asha went to her first big girl birthday party.  Her best friend Hazel was turning 4.  Asha even went shopping with Mum and brought a new party dress for the occasion. She is growing up before our very eyes. Taken with the Fujifilm X-T1

Fujifilm X-T1

Finally I get a chance to see what the hype is all about.  I've been able to score a brand new Fujifilm X-T1 to play with for a week.  I'm looking forward to the weekend to put it through it's paces. So far, after getting used to the the different settings and dials I've been very impressed.  The images are sharp and generally beautifully exposed.  The dynamic range on the camera is impressive and the build quality is fantastic.  It may well be my next new purchase........ providing my other gear sells on eBay.  Here are the first two photos that I have taken with the loan camera.

St Petersburg - November 2012

With my St Petersburg exhibition soon approaching I'm busily sorting through all of my images in an attempt to choose those that make the final cut.  I chose this one because it highlights the stark contrast in social class St Petersburg, between the "haves and have nots".
